Beach House

Looking north around the cove, the wild waves call my name in a rushing roar. Wind whips the sand into a quiet whisper at my feet. A break in the gray sky opens and a patch of blue appears. I’m walking, and will return to the warmth of my beach house.

It is the tingling feeling of sand that slips between my toes. It is the nurturing of family that gathers, exchanging stories of travel or tales of work and love punctuated by laughter and the ever-present rushing of wave after wave arriving at the shoreline. It is the knowledge that the waves will never stop, that there is a constancy to life that I feel in my bones, despite circumstances which come and go.

This is the beach.

This is my home.

Beach house

Wind, waves, and whispers of “I’m home”.
