Our Mission:
Drawing with Dominique’s mission is to encourage and empower young people to flourish creatively through positive learning experiences in visual art.
Art Classes
In Drawing with Dominique classes, your child will have the chance for meaningful interaction through shared discussion of art.
Students learn how to draw by using basic shapes, creating form through use of value, and adding texture and color.
Students are encouraged to experiment in the medium and subject matter most meaningful to them. Dominique designs each lesson according to the student’s interests.
Lessons are scaffolded to support the beginner artist as well as capture the interest of the advanced artist.
Meet Dominique
Hello! My name is Dominique Kongsli, and I am a professional artist, designer and illustrator. Is my absolute joy to teach art because I know how much fun it is to create. My goal is to nurture your child's artistic sensibilities and give them the skills and the confidence needed to create. Oh, and I also teach adults too!
Learner-Centered.
Classes are accessible for different types of learners through use of a drawing guide, which is available for use during the lesson. Kids can print the drawing guide or simply download it and reference it on their screen throughout the lesson.

Mindset Boost
Students are positively affirmed and learn mindset skills to enhance their creativity throughout the lesson.

Students learn how to support and affirm each other through guided art shows at the end of each lesson.

Anatomy of an Art Lesson
Beginning: (15 min) Greeting. Well-being check-in. Ice-breaker question and introductions. Creative affirmations. Drawing warm up.
Middle: (45 min) I teach children the basic rules of drawing, and we draw the subject together, step-by-step. I show your child how to draw by using basic shapes, next adding details, then texture and finally color. Lessons are scaffolded to support the beginner artist as well as capture the interest of the advanced artist.
Closing: (15 min) Art show for children who wish to participate. We take turns showing your child’s art and affirm them.
