Looking north around the cove, the wild waves call my name in a rushing roar. Wind whips the sand into a quiet whisper at my feet. The cold pierces my skin through my heavy-knit sweater. A break in the gray sky opens and a patch of blue appears. Is that the sun? I’m walking, and I know I will return to the warmth of my beach house.
